  • Just what can I expect at RPM Indoor Kart Racing?

    From the moment you walk through the front doors at RPM and stare face‑to‑face with a real NASCAR race car and see all of the racing memorabilia, you know that RPM is all about racing. As you watch through the glass as the karts race at speeds up to 40 MPH you will be asking yourself "how can I get out there and race?" RPM exists to put you behind the wheel and provide you with the ultimate racing experience.

  • What are the requirements to race?

    There is no prior racing experience required to race at RPM. We provide everything you need: "We provide the Ride… You supply the Drive"

  • Who can Race at RPM?

    Anyone 18 and over with a valid drivers license can just show up, sign a liability release form and race. Racers under age 18 need to have their parent sign a liability release form. Racers under age 16 are required to attend our Junior Drivers Training Class prior to racing at RPM. (See below)

  • How old do you have to be to Race at RPM?

    RPM caters to families and encourages Racers to start at a young age. We allow our Junior Racers to start at 8 years old. Any Racer age 8 ‑ 15 is required to attend our Junior Drivers Training Class to obtain their license and Membership Card. With their Membership Card, they can race at RPM at any time.

  • Are there height or weight limitations?

    We will do our best to accommodate drivers of all sizes. Certain minimum and maximum height restrictions apply. Generally, height can range from about 4'6" to about 6'6", however, we have had 7' Sacramento Kings players enjoy racing the karts. Our race crew will help you fit into the kart and ensure that it is safe for you to race. We have a kart on display inside our facility, so feel free to climb in and see how it fits.

  • Do I need to bring anything to race?

    RPM provides everything you need to race. We provide all of the training and safety gear including a racing suit, a helmet, a neck collar and the high performance racing karts. All you need is adrenaline… lots of adrenaline!

  • What should I wear to race?

    The only clothing requirement at RPM is close toed shoes that will provide proper traction on the gas and brake pedals. Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms are available for changing into the RPM provided racing suits. The racing suit can be worn over your clothing or undergarments. Showers are also provided in the locker rooms.

  • Can I bring my own Racing Gear and Helmet?

    You are allowed and encouraged to bring in your own racing gear. We require a full face helmet DOT / Snell rated. Motocross helmets must have the mouthpiece integrated with the helmet and goggles are required. We offer a full line of helmets, racing suits, racing shoes, gloves and gear bags in our Speed Shop. Check out the latest gear and show off your individual style. Remember, it's not how fast you are… it's how good you look.

  • Can I bring my own kart?

    RPM provides all of the karts that are raced on the track. We strive to maintain equal karts to allow you to showcase your racing talent.

  • Do I need to become a member to race at RPM?

    We do not require a membership if you are over 16 years old. However, there are some great advantages if you do become a member. The $10 Membership fee is valid for one year and includes a Head Sock ($5 value), a free Hot Laps race on your birthday ($20.00 value), discounts on Hot Laps races, reservation privileges and most importantly, your own membership card with a picture of you. Bring this with you each time you race for your discounts and to avoid signing a new liability release form each time you race. If you are age 8 ‑ 15 then a Junior Membership is required and is included with completion of the Junior Drivers Training Class. This is valid until you turn 16 years old.

  • Is racing at RPM safe?

    Now let's face it, walking across the street can be dangerous. RPM Indoor Kart Racing has an excellent safety record. We take every precaution to provide you with the ultimate and safest racing experience possible.

  • Can I race with my child who will be in a Junior Kart?

    RPM provides family races where you will be allowed to race with your child and/or friends. These are available on request when checking into a race.

  • Are there rules or can I just bump everyone out of the way?

    Yes, there are rules to provide for the safety of all racers and to protect the karts. Indoor Kart Racing is a non-contact sport. These are racing karts and need to be treated with respect. There is a greater challenge and more satisfaction in setting up your buddy for a clean pass and overtaking him with talent rather than just pushing him out of the way. If you choose to do the latter, then the rules come into play and we will use the black flag to warn, penalize or even end your race prematurely.

  • Where is RPM located?

    RPM is located at 3130 Bradshaw Road in Sacramento. We are on the North ‑ West side of Hwy 50 and Bradshaw Rd. Going East on Hwy 50 turn left on Bradshaw, Going West on hwy 50 turn right on Bradshaw. RPM will be on your left. From Highway 50 West exit Bradshaw Rd. Go left back over the freeway. RPM will be on your left.

  • What hours is RPM open?

    We are open 7 days a week from 11:00am ‑ 11:00pm.The first race of the day begins at 11:30am and you should be here by 10:20pm to get into our last races of the night.

  • Do you provide private rooms for meetings or parties?

    Yes, RPM provides 5 conference rooms as well as the Sky Box located on the second floor overlooking both race tracks. We offer a variety of food from our Race Place Café as well as a Subway Sandwich Shop located inside. We also have a full catering menu that can provide anything you need. Check with our Event Coordinator for details.

  • How big is the facility?

    We have two tracks inside of our 74,000 sq. ft. facility. Each track is approx. 1/4 mile.

  • How long have you been open?

    We have been open since February 10, 2003

  • What type of Karts do you have?

    They are Stratos Racing Karts with Honda 9HP ‑ 4 Stroke Engines. The Junior karts have Honda 5.5 HP Engines.

  • How fast do they go?

    The Karts go approx. 35‑40 mph

  • How much does it cost?

    Our adult racers age 18 and over have a couple of options.

    Purchase a RPM Membership for $10.00.

    Membership includes:

    • Membership card ‑ Required for all Member Discounts
    • Free RPM Head Sock
    • Discounts of "Hot Laps" Races
    • Free "Hot Laps" Race on your Birthday
    • Reservation Privileges for our larger race events.

    As an RPM Member, you race one "Hot Laps" session for $20.00 as you buy more the price goes down.

    As an RPM Junior Member, you race one "Hot Laps" session for $15.00 as you buy more the price goes down.

  • How long is the RPM Membership good for?

    The membership is good for one year from date of purchase. The Junior Membership is good until you turn 16 years old.

  • What are "Hot Laps"?

    "Hot Laps" are a 10 minute race session racing against the clock, not for position. Depending on the type of racer you are, you will complete approx. 25‑30 laps.

  • Can I call ahead and reserve a "Hot Laps" Session?

    "Hot Laps" races are scheduled first come first serve. You can stop by RPM anytime and be put into our next available "Hot Laps" race.

  • Can I purchase more than one "Hot Laps" session?

    Yes. As a member the more you purchase the lower the price.

  • Do I have to watch the briefing video every time I race?

    You must watch the briefing video at least once a day.

  • What if I don't want to purchase a RPM Membership?

    If you choose not to purchase a membership, the cost to run a "Hot Laps" session is $24.00. You would also need to purchase a Head Sock for $5.00. No additional discounts are given for additional races purchased.

  • What is a Head Sock?

    A Head Sock goes over your head and is required to be worn when using RPM Helmets.

  • What if my child is over 15?

    Children ages 16 & 17 will need their parent or guardian to sign their waiver form prior to racing.

  • Can I race with my child after the completion of the class?

    Yes, but if they are in a junior kart for their safety they can only race in family races.

  • Do you have races other than "Hot Laps"?

    Yes. As a RPM member you can make a reservation for one of our specialty races. You need a minimum of 8 racers for these events. Check out our Race Menu for all our race events.

  • When do you have the full track?

    On Mondays we combine both the Unbound Energy Track and the Monster Energy Track and make the ultimate Lost Energy Track.

  • Can I book events on Mondays?

    Yes, but there is a minimum of 12 racers.

  • Can I bring in outside food?

    No, but we do have the Race Place Café and Subway in our facility.
